# My Story
I've been into technology most of my life. I started coding at 12 and never really stopped. That turned into a career where I've done a bit of everything: migrated systems between languages, built data pipelines, trained ML models, and figured a lot of it out as I went. From a startup where I was also the sysadmin, to Fortune 100 systems that can't blink.
I've spent 11 years at Lumenalta, the consultancy that keeps handing me hard problems and expecting me to stay on them until they're solved. Early on it put me at Evercast, where we built the live video (WebRTC) that studios ran on productions like Chernobyl and Lost in Space. That work earned a 2020 Engineering Emmy. Now I lead the data and AI platform for a Fortune 100 media company, with a team that scales from 8 to 14 engineers as demand shifts. Same job it's always been: take the vague requirement and own it end to end, from the whiteboard to the pager going quiet.
I keep some client names private by request or NDA. Discretion is part of what they pay for, not something I forgot to list.
## What drives me
The tech was never the part I liked most. Watching someone I mentored outgrow me is. That's what pulled me from being "just a developer" into leading teams.
I've worked fully remote for more than a decade, back when it still needed explaining. It works because I'm paid for what ships, not for looking busy from 9 to 5. It's also bought me the freedom to travel. I've been to every continent, lived abroad for a while, and eventually rooted myself back in sunny Brazil, where I live today.
## Beyond the terminal
Outside of work I drum, I game, and I fall down music rabbit holes. I speak a few languages and I'm a Mensa associate. Most of all, I'm the dad of a little boy who changed how I look at the future. Having a kid moved the goalposts. Now I care what the world looks like in 30 years, not just next quarter. I try to treat people the way I'd want the world to treat my son. Most days I manage it.
